Careful transport for senior and special-needs pets

For pets with medical conditions, limited mobility or high anxiety, the trip is planned around their needs: a climate-controlled vehicle, a handler who monitors them throughout, and stops timed to their routine.

How special-needs trips are planned

  • Tell us about your pet's condition, medications and daily schedule when you request a quote.
  • Rest, feeding and exercise stops are built into the route.
  • A handler monitors your pet from pickup to delivery.

What to prepare

  • Written medication instructions and dosing times.
  • Recent veterinary records and any health paperwork your route requires.
  • Your veterinarian's contact information.

Good to know

  • Some pets are not suited to long trips. If you are unsure, check with your veterinarian before booking.
  • Handlers monitor and comfort your pet. They do not provide veterinary treatment.

Planning with your veterinarian

Before you book, ask your veterinarian whether a long trip is appropriate for your pet, and what to watch for. Bring their advice to us. Describing your pet's condition accurately lets us plan the stops, the schedule and the handling, and give you an accurate fixed quote.

What we need from you

  • A description of your pet's condition and any limits on movement.
  • Medications with written instructions and dosing times.
  • A recent veterinary summary, if you have one.
  • Your veterinarian's contact details.
  • Vaccination records and any health certificate.
